Terminal 2's retail line up complete

Passengers travelling through Heathrow’s new Terminal 2 will have their pick of the world’s best shops and restaurants confirmed by Heathrow today.

Each of the 63 shops and restaurants has been carefully selected for Terminal 2 following passenger requests and a study of the latest industry trends which called for more premium restaurant experiences and a greater number of British brands. Those confirmed include Cath Kidston, London’s Pride by Fullers, Bottega Veneta, Michael Kors and a new restaurant created by four local female chefs - The Gorgeous Kitchen.

The new Terminal 2, known as ‘The Queen’s terminal’ will build on Heathrow’s record as the world’s best airport for shopping and restaurants when it opens on 4 June this year. Heathrow’s passengers have voted the airport’s shops and restaurants the best in the world for three consecutive years through the independent survey run by Skytrax.

Heathrow is home to some of the world’s most successful retail space, with outlets at the airport delivering annual net sales of over £1.8 billion and sales per square meter of £30,052. Every pound generated through the airport’s retail goes to reducing airport costs to airlines and in turn the ticket prices for passengers.

The competitive two-year tender process resulted in more than five proposals for each position, surpassing the number of bids received for Terminal 5 opening.

Max Vialou-Clark, Heathrow’s retail director said:

‘Terminal 2’s opening will introduce Heathrow passengers to a whole new experience when they fly with us. From a restaurant created by Michelin-starred Heston Blumenthal to everyone’s favourite, John Lewis - we have really pushed the boundaries of what is expected from an airport.’
