Heathrow celebrates 80 years launching a chance to win round the world tickets with Star Alliance

As Heathrow celebrates the 80th anniversary of its first official passenger flight on 31 May 1946, Star Alliance has partnered with Heathrow Rewards on a UK-wide prize draw. As part of the milestone celebrations, travellers have the chance to win two Star Alliance Round the World business class tickets. The prize draw is open from 3–22 June 2026 to UK residents.

The relationship between Star Alliance and Heathrow spans more than a decade. Since the Star Alliance member airlines moved to Terminal 2 in 2014, Heathrow has become one of the Alliance’s most significant hubs worldwide.

Today, 23 of the current 26 Star Alliance member airlines operate from Terminal 2.  Together, they serve over 14 million passengers annually and represent over 17% of Heathrow’s available seat capacity. Operating more than 1,500 weekly flights to 40 destinations across over 20 countries, Star Alliance offers customers in the UK seamless access to a truly global network.

To enter the prize draw, participants must first register for a free My Heathrow account and then enter at www.heathrow.com/star

The campaign forms part of Heathrow's broader birthday celebrations and highlights the global connectivity and seamless travel experience delivered through the longstanding partnership between Star Alliance and Heathrow.

The coveted prize offers the winner the opportunity to create a personalised itinerary with a number of participating airlines across the Star Alliance network, subject to the applicable Round the World terms and conditions. Beginning and ending at Heathrow,   the itinerary showcases the scale, connectivity and flexibility made possible through Star Alliance and its member airlines.

Today, Heathrow serves as the UK's gateway to the world, connecting passengers to more than 230 destinations across over 80 countries. From welcoming just 63,000 passengers in its first year, the airport now serves 84.5 million travellers annually, reflecting its role in international trade, tourism and cultural exchange.
