Heathrow enjoys christmas time with mistletoe and wine

The three million passengers flying through Heathrow this December are to be treated to a traditional taste of Christmas as restaurants and retailers across the terminals serve up turkey with all the trimmings.

From this month more than 20 restaurants, bars and cafes will be offering seasonal foods and dishes – many of which have been created exclusively for Heathrow.

Celebrating Christmas in true British style, Gordon Ramsay Plane Food (Terminal 5) is serving turkey pie with brussel sprouts and chestnut crumble followed by a classic Christmas pudding and brandy sauce.

Huxleys in Terminal 5 will be serving mulled wine and mince pies and Chez Gerard in Terminal 3 has added home-cured salmon with dill, a whole baked Camembert with crusty bread and a warm dark chocolate fondant to their menu.

Getting passengers into the spirit of Christmas, The Dining Street Restaurant & Bar in Terminal 4 will be treating passengers to Christmas pudding with custard as part of its two course Christmas lunch. It will also be offering seasonal winter warmers such as parsnip and honey soup.

For a taste of luxury, passengers can indulge at Caviar House & Prunier (all terminals) with a sumptuous platter of Balik Fillet Tsar Nikolaj, Foie Gras and 10g of caviar and at Terminal 3’s oyster bar; they can treat themselves to a selection of rock and native oysters.

Passengers wanting to enjoy something on the go should pick up a Christmas Bagel from Bagel Street (Terminal 3 & 5) or a Turkey Bap from The Harlequin Alehouse & Eatery (Terminal 1) before boarding.

Harrods will also be involved in the festivities, offering passengers the chance to pick up a Christmas hamper from a range that features great British teatime classics such as shortbread and jams. Travellers looking to celebrate the New Year in style can also make the most of the special offers on whiskies, vodkas and champagne at World Duty Free.

Chris Annetts, Heathrow head of category for food and beverage said, "These limited edition treats and seasonal dishes are the perfect winter warmers to get you into the Christmas mood and kick start your journey. With nearly half a million people travelling through Heathrow between Sunday 19 December and Friday 24 December we want to make everyone’s Christmas travels as enjoyable and memorable as possible – and of course, to give them a truly British experience."
