Heathrow unveils the world's first Personal Shopping lounge at an airport

Ahead of the opening of its new Terminal 2, Heathrow is revealing the leisure, retail and dining experiences passengers can expect when they fly. These include the world’s first Personal Shopping lounge at an airport, providing customers with a comfortable and private space with an accredited stylist, delivering individually tailored sessions free of charge and regardless of ticket type.

Terminal 2 will house a number of firsts, including an airport debut for British high-street favourite John Lewis. The airport edition of John Lewis will see a unique collection covering the best of home, fashion and gift ranges. Terminal 2 also welcomes multi-award winning chef Heston Blumenthal with the opening of his newest restaurant, which boasts the first wood-burning oven in a UK airport. The Perfectionists’ Café will cater for passengers who want exceptional food, quickly.

The Michelin starred chef comments:

'Opening in an airport is something entirely new to me, so it was great to take on the challenge. My team and I have been researching how to meet the unique and specific needs of guests who are in the midst of travel and we have come up with a great menu of food that is satisfying, familiar and fun. Dishes will be stimulating and at the same time easy to enjoy.'

The Queen’s Terminal will open to the public on 4 June 2014 with a wide selection of retailers on board, from iconic British brands such as Cath Kidston and Ted Baker, through to luxury fashion houses including Bottega Veneta and Bvlgari. This will be complemented by carefully selected restaurants, including a Seafood bar by Caviar House and The Gorgeous Kitchen – created by four local female chefs.

Furthermore, thanks to Terminal 2’s independent lounge, Plaza Premium, passengers will be able to experience a first class lounge, regardless of their ticket type. Plaza Premium boasts a champagne bar, private relaxation rooms and a wellness spa.

Max Vialou-Clark, Heathrow's Retail Director said:

'Terminal 2 marks the next step in our quest to provide passengers with the best possible experience when they choose to travel through Heathrow. Heathrow is now the only airport in the world to offer a free Personal Shopping lounge together with a selection of over 140 brands that have been selected especially for our customers.’
