- The summer getaway has started early at Heathrow with our teams welcoming over 7 million passengers last month
- Transatlantic travel continued to drive passenger numbers, especially in the last three days of the month as travellers headed home in time for Independence Day
- Service levels have been very high, with security queues under 5 minutes across all terminals and our Here to Help teams out in force
- More families arriving back at Heathrow from their summer holidays are set for a speedier immigration experience after Border Force announced that all children over 10 will be able to use eGates instead of queueing to see an immigration officer. Families can also benefit from the wide array of family-friendly restaurants across the airport with kids eating free from 20 July until 3 September, and children under 15 can travel free on the Heathrow Express. Passengers can also get 10% off World Duty Free online orders, through Heathrow Reserve & Collect, another example of our great duty free prices vs high street prices
- We are pleased to have agreed a two-year pay deal which helps colleagues with the cost of living crisis and means that travellers can be confident that their travel plans won’t be affected by strike action
Heathrow CEO John Holland Kaye said:
“I am very proud of the way that everyone at Heathrow has been working together to deliver excellent service at our busiest time of year. Summer at Heathrow is all about family holidays and we are ready to make sure yours gets off to a great start. “
