Heathrow announces collaboration with Michelin Starred Chef Jason Atherton

•    New exclusive VIP menu to feature signature dishes from Atherton’s internationally renowned restaurants including Berners Tavern and Pollen Street Social

•    Heathrow’s VIP service offers passengers luxurious, private and personalised travel through the airport

Heathrow, the UK’s only hub airport, today announced an exclusive new collaboration with Michelin-starred British chef Jason Atherton, who will be bringing some of his award winning dishes to Heathrow VIP, offering customers a taste of the contemporary gastronomy from his restaurants including Pollen Street Social and Berners Tavern.

Heathrow VIP is exclusively available for  Business and First Class passengers to book, offering a private and relaxing transition through the airport in just over 44 steps. The VIP service begins with a chauffeur driven journey to a dedicated private entrance, where the concierge greet passengers and take them to their own private lounge to wait for their flight. The VIP team take care of check-in and luggage within the suite, as well as private security screening when it is time to depart. Passengers can enjoy a sumptuous five-star meal or a bespoke personal shopping service from the comfort of their private lounge. When it’s time to board, guests are whisked away in a luxury car directly to the door of their departing flight following their choice to be first or last passenger to board.

Taking inspiration from the menus of his world-renowned restaurants, with a focus on British produce, the new menu means customers can indulge in the best in British cuisine before they depart from the UK. The menu will be updated on a monthly basis, with those travelling this June set to enjoy a selection of mouth-watering canapés, followed by a Berners Tavern summer salad starter and a roasted stone bass, caramelised cauliflower, fennel and cockle velouté main course, inspired by food from the delectable Berners Tavern. For dessert, passengers can tuck into a French meringue, fresh berry compote and strawberry sorbet.

Commenting on the exclusive collaboration, Jason said: “Having experienced the Heathrow VIP offering first hand, I’ve always been impressed with how the service transforms the way you travel and so I was delighted to help make the dining experience a true occasion for passengers. With the help of my team and the Heathrow VIP chefs, we’ve created a range of exciting dishes to suit even the most experienced palate; we hope this will enhance the premium experience when travelling through the VIP suite at Heathrow.”

John Holland-Kaye, CEO of Heathrow, added: “I can still remember the first time I ate in one of Jason’s restaurants - I went straight out and bought his recipe book so that I could try them out at home.  I am thrilled that our VIP passengers can experience the real thing, the very best in British cuisine, when they travel through Heathrow.  From the minute a passenger arrives, to the moment they board their flight, Heathrow’s VIP experience offers a seamless, private and luxurious journey through the airport – now complemented with the culinary masterpieces from the brilliant Jason Atherton.”
