Terminal Five, Guys! Heathrow and Five Guys announce plans for Terminal 5 restaurant

Five Guys and Heathrow have announced that the iconic burger brand will be opening a new restaurant at Heathrow Terminal 5 later this year.

This new Five Guys restaurant will be the first opening in a UK and European airport, marking a substantial milestone and an exciting new partnership.

The 2,500 square feet unit will be situated in a prime location on the upper level of Heathrow T5, and is predicted to serve approximately 90 covers, as well as offering a speedy takeaway option for travellers. The site will also create between 80-100 new jobs for the terminal.

Trading from first flight to last flight, Five Guys will be offering daytime and breakfast menu options to Heathrow passengers – ideal for moving between time zones after a long flight. The restaurant will feature exclusive elements tailored for Heathrow, including a dedicated Welcome Host to greet passengers and enhance the Five Guys experience. Distinctive design enhancements will include an increased number of ordering kiosks in 6 different languages and travel friendly elements to better serve the airport environment.

With their continued expansion across the UK, Five Guys are excited to announce their latest restaurant opening, marking another exciting milestone in the brand’s continued growth and popularity across both the country and Europe as a whole.

“We are thrilled to be opening a brand new Five Guys at Heathrow Terminal 5 this year,” said John Eckbert, CEO of Five Guys UK. “Having opened over 170 restaurants across the UK since we first launched back in 2013, the brand has established itself as one of the nation’s favourites for premium burgers. Now Five Guys is cementing itself at the UK’s busiest travel hub; we are excited to be providing our delicious menu to travellers as part of their journeys.”

This is an exciting opportunity for Five Guys to trade at the most connected airport in the world, with Heathrow expecting record-breaking numbers of passengers to travel through the airport this year. Heathrow will work closely with Five Guys to align on Heathrow's retail strategy – which is to consider Digital, Experience, Space and Offer (DESO) within the proposition.

Fraser Brown, Retail Director at Heathrow, said: “We're very excited to welcome Five Guys to Terminal 5 - becoming the first airport in the UK and Europe to host the beloved burger brand. This exciting addition reflects our commitment to making every journey better, as we continue to build an extraordinary airport fit for the future. We’re confident this new arrival will be a hit with our passengers.”

Using only the freshest ingredients, Five Guys is the UK’s favourite destination for the ultimate high-quality treat. With 15 free toppings to choose from, customers have over 250,000 possible burger order combinations. So, whether you’re in the mood for an iconic cheeseburger, an all-beef hot dog or even a bunless lettuce wrapped burger – the choice is yours.

Not to mention, the portions are always overflowingly generous, with their salted or cajun fries known for being served with an extra scoop in the bag. Generosity is important to Five Guys, and their founder, Jerry Murrell, says that if people aren’t complaining that there’s too many fries, there aren’t enough! Their boardwalk-style fries have been perfected with a twice-daily fry calibration; ensuring crew members are cooking the perfect fries for customers.

Founded in Virginia in 1986 and launched in the UK in 2013 in London’s Covent Garden, the American-diner style restaurant has become one of the UK’s most-loved restaurants and has amassed a loyal fanbase.
