North East businesses championed at Heathrow

In Heathrow’s latest bid to drive growth in Britain’s great cities, 10 new animated images featuring North East businesses go live across all the  terminals at the UK’s only hub.

The North East is the launch partner in the year-long campaign which seeks to increase foreign direct investment across all of Britain. It is a unique opportunity for the North East to showcase why it is open for business and a great place to invest, work and live to the airport’s 22 million annual business travellers.

The 10 North East businesses which are featured underline the North East’s strength in education and advanced manufacturing and include:

University of Sunderland

Port of Tyne

South Tyneside College

Northumbria University

QuantuMDx

CPI

ORE Catapult

Nissan

AIS Training

Eutechnyx

 

North East Local Enterprise Partnership Chair Paul Woolston said:

Over the past year, Heathrow has committed over £7 million worth of advertising at Heathrow to promote both tourism and foreign direct investment across the whole of the UK
Serving more than 180 global destinations, Heathrow connects to Newcastle International Airport with five daily services transporting almost 500,000 passengers annual between the North East and the UK’s only hub
In 2014, there were 1,773 FDI projects in the UK creating or safeguarding 111,361 jobs

Each participating city region has been offered £500,000 worth of advertising space over a six-week advertising burst across digital platforms in all Heathrow terminals, prime poster locations at the airport and exhibition space in arrivals halls. The North East is the first to feature and will be followed by Northern Ireland, Leeds, Glasgow, Cardiff and Bristol
